Press Release:
Suzuki has released more images and information of the European version of its exciting new third generation Swift light car.
The new images highlight the significant changes to the ground breaking light car that launched Suzuki’s world strategy five years ago.
“We are very excited about the release of information for the new European Swift, but we are still some way off finalising the Australian version,” said Suzuki Australian General Manager Tony Devers.
“The new Swift won’t go on sale here until the first half of next year, and we are still finalising local specification levels.”
The current Swift set new standards in performance and styling, earning it 63 Car of the Year awards around the world, and took the car to sales of one million units faster than any other model in the company’s 100-year history.
“New Swift will realise even higher levels of performance and styling, in tandem with superior fuel economy and environmental performance,” said Devers.
The European specification Swift will feature a new 1.2-litre petrol engine and 1.3-litre diesel engine.
While Devers said Suzuki Australia was still considering all potential powertrain options for new Swift, he confirmed the new Australian version would offer even better performance and economy.
The latest photos reveal the European Swift boasts an all-new interior, drawing design cues from the highly acclaimed Kizashi mid-sized car.
They also show a new keyless push button start-stop system and all-new instrument panel.
“We have already revealed new Swift will be stronger, yet lighter, for better performance and safety levels. These latest images show that new Swift is well placed to follow in the footsteps of its award-winning predecessor,” said Devers.
